7½ days

So in 7½ days I leave, and in 10 days I get home.



Thanks to the recent behaviour of my host mother, it should be pretty easy to say goodbye. Except I'll miss my host dad soooooo much. And pfcourse all my friends. Actually I think I'll just miss the town in general. Its so small and cute (like Palmerston North). I think I'll come nack sometime later but I know that it will never be the same.



And as soon As I get home I start uni. Fun times. Should be interesting how jetlag, uni and seeing friends goes all at the same time. I'm a pro at organisation so I'm sure I can. lmao. Nope im still not very modest either.



In my last week I should be pretty busy. There is a HUGE festival here. Its the 'Festivale Mondiale' where a whole lot of people come to town and show off their cultures. I'm sure there won't be a New Zealand group. Everyone thinks I come from Southern Europe.



Oh and I'm having a lil get together the Saturday 14th. :)

Preparing for the departure

So i should be getting ready to go......but its just so warm that i soend all my time outside. Its sooo hot here...35 degrees.....and everyone here rekons i should be used to that...ummm...when was teh last time wellington got past 25?

Its kinda sad putting an end to stuff. Like closing my bank account, selling my phone, and getting rid of the crap i collected over 11 months.

Not looking forward to saying goodbye to my friends, but atleast because of the recent fights with my host mum it won't be too hard leaving her.

But I am looking forward to coming home and seeing everyone again!!!!! a lot of catching up to do

I'm driving a duck! Its an old war vehicle used in water and on land that has been modified for city tours. The guide thought it was hilarious that I'm a kiwi so he made jokes the whole time and when we went into the water he made me drive....lol...dont tell afs

I touched John Harvard's golden foot...at Harvard university....I am totally going to study there....lol

Visited the Salem Witch Museum, where there was a mini presentation explaining the history with teh story from The Crucible....I was very proud of my 5th form drama

So close yet so far away

Im coming home in 5 weeks...

It's a strange feeling knowing that I'll be leaving so much so go back to a place that will feel so strange. I feel like I'm leaving a town filled with memories and I'll never be back. I know that there is a good chance that I wil be back, but it will never be the same. I have so many memories of Quebec. So many opportunities adn experiences that it has become a part of who I am.

The feeling of coming home is very different to that of leaving. Im incredibly excited to see all my friends, family and just see the things I used to think were so normal...like a beach!! It will be strange though because I know that I have changed. I don't like to use the phrase 'grown up' but it definalty applies to me. There are the obvious changes; I'll be finishing secondary school here and starting university less than a month later, but there is the more sublte stuff too. Like my reactions to problems and conflicts, and also how much I have learnt to appreciate everything.

I'm excited to come home but I'm nervous to leave a town that gave me an amazing, 10 month life changing experience.
