I got a tattoo

so this is the start of the process. Everyone was mocking me and telling em how much it would hurt and that id chicken out. In fact i thought it didnt hurt (I had pins and needles in my hand afterwards and that hurt more). The guy that did the tattoo was so funny, he was an awesome morange called Jean-Pierre.
This photo was taken after he had finished. Its all red but i was sooo happy.
And this is the final tattoo. its placed metween my shoulderblades. Its about 7cm long (sorry mum I know you didnt think more than 4cms was appropriate. I really love it and so does everyone else here.

hares and sludge

So the last time someone commented on my blog was January 10th. I don’t know if people read the blog or have just forgotten about lil ol’ me overseas. Whatever the reason…I’ll keep blogging.
I had an exciting morning…I saw a hare. No not a hair or a here….but a hare…It was cute and whilte with little brown spots. They change colour after winter (white to disguise in snow and brown to disguise in the woods). So that’s another little animal to add to my Canadian animal list (so far I have skunk, beaver, hare and photos of a moose).

It’s the first day of spring today…oddly enough it was -26 this morning. So I’m hoping the weather gets better.

melting ice,a mystery murder and boredom

Well spring break is finished and I’m back at school. I had a pretty good holiday. The start of the week I didn’t do anything interesting…watching Jerry Springer in the basement using the cross trainer in an attempt to become a lil fitter (and a lil unfatter). Tuesday and Thursday I went shopping. The end of the week was the most interesting. Thursday night I went to a friends house for a ‘mystery murder’ dinner. We had to dress up as different characters and had to figure out who the murderer was. It was kind of geeky but I had fun. My friend lives on a huge farm (152 hectors) so Friday we went for a 2 hour walk through the snow wearing the funny shoes similar to tennis racquets (usually associated with Eskimos) That was very cool but sooo tiring) and to get an idea of how much snow there was, we were walking past shoulder height trees that came up to mid-calf……should get photos up here soonish.

Friday night we went to rock show (kind of like rockquest). There were 4 bands (wed and thur antoher 4 had already played). The music was pretty good and there weren’t any crazy drunkards so it was a good show. Got back at about midnight, which meant I didn’t sleep much the night before my snowboarding day. Seeing as we were on a farm it took 45 minutes to get to where the bus leaves (usually its 5 minutes). Snowboarding was awesome (as usual) there was a bug snowboarding competition on so that was cool. It was the warmest day yet (0degrees) so most people were out in just a hoody. Next week itll be about 10 degrees so well all be in teeshirts. Lol.

Today is day 200….120 day till I get back…and 18 days til my 18th!!!!!!

So i've got my spring break here now. I was planning on going to Toronto but stuff came up and now I'm gonna hang out on Drummondville with my freinds and hopefully go shopping.

The last few weeks have been pretty cool. Schools going really well and, trying to be modest, I'm really proud of how I'm going. I get good marks, I participate in group discussions and I've managed to be disconnected from my 'exchange student' reputation.

We had another little snow storm so I had another day off school. It was great; the friday before spring break, so I have a longer holiday. Sounds kinda funny having spring break while it's still snowing, but i use the term spring brean because America and english Canada have a weeks holiday around this time and the french name for the holiday litterally translated is just week of relaxing. With all the snow, my usually Saturday excursion to the mountains was awesome. Usually theres a little ice but it was just amazing powder. It snowed the whole day. There was no wind so the snow was just falling. Here they call it 'sugar snow' because its like a sprinkling of sugar.

This is me on the slopes. Behind me you can see the car park (far left) other slopes, and other ski fields...and the motorway...yep...its not a mountain, its a hill with the chairlifts starting at the same level as the motorway. Crazy as it sounds, its normal here. The ski field that I'm at is called Stoneham...its in the Canadian Rockies (or so I'm told, I'm a bit unsure seeing as the Rockies are west Canada, but thats what it says in the little pamphlet!)
This is one on the many (i stress many) of chalets litterally next to the slope. I aim to become rich one day (or knowing someone rich) and coming back here to buy a chalet. I tool this photo when I was stuck on the chairlift for 20 minutes due to 'technical troubles'. I was on the chairlift with a couple in their 50s that had started snowboarding this season. Very cool
